For the past few months I have been experiencing profuse sweating, and a VERY shaky feeling and it only last for an hour or so, but it happens every day around the same time!! It really affects me at work and I need to find out how to prevent this from happening. Occasionally I run a low grade fever (99-100).
I am currently on a drug holiday and my last labs were as follows: VL 200, cd4 504. (As of 11-2003).
I am HCV+, and have Polycystic Kidney Disease and ANY ideas on what could be causing this??? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

There are LOTS of conditions that can cause symptoms like yours-a few you can sort out yourself, some will require the help of your doctor. First off, check to see if there are any medications or supplements you take about an hour before your symptoms start-you could be having an allergic reaction to something your taking as a medication. This is called drug fever. Medications that can cause this include two water pills, Lasix, and HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide), drugs used to treat high blood pressure. Because you have polycystic kidney disease, you are at higher risk than average to get a kidney infection: have your doc check your urine. Your doctor should also listen to your heart as some heart conditions can cause a bacterial infection in the blood. Hepatitis C is not likely to cause symptoms like you describe, nor is HIV.
Once drug-induced or infection-induced causes have been ruled out, you and your doctor could try taking an Advil/Motrin-type drug an hour before your expected symptoms to see if they can prevent them.
Based on your GOOD HIV numbers I don't think this is a serious thing but more likely a really bothersome thing-but be sure to check it out thoroughly!
