I have been taking Omeprazole for 4 years after being diagnosed with GERD. It is the only drug that effectively controls my gastric acid reflux (I tried many others). My doctor tells me that taking Omeprazole with Reyataz will dramatically decrease the efficacy of Reyataz. Does the Omeprazole completely block the drug or just decrease the amount available in the blood?
I appreciate your site and your information.
It wouldn't even matter, really. There is nothing worse for HIV therapy than to take low levels of a HAART drug. So, low drug levels are to be avoided, at all costs.
I would make sure your doctor is aware of your concerns, and would be sure to take medications as directed.
