Question:

Hi,
So sorry to intrude, but I'm in end-stage hepatitis C with cirrosis and HIV+ since 1985 w/no problems with that.

My problem is I'm at 18% of living liver tissue and developed pulmonary hypertension,(pressure is 87), and this precludes me from a Liver transplant, (I have a living donor).

I'm going on "FLOLAN" soon also..... I have had a liver transplant evaluation at The Starzl Institute in Pittsburgh, PA. and that was their finding.

I'm a 45 year old male and have no obvious symptoms from anything.

My question is this: Can you possibly direct me to ANYONE doing ssrna research or any type of gene therapy that I may have another avenue to pursue?

It was not clear in your query as to whether or not you were being treated for your HCV. HCV is treatable, and treatment may help dramatically in your case. The Pitt people should be able to help you with this, as well. It is challenging, but not impossible. I think we all just have to be creative.
