Hello,
I have written to you before. My VL is <49 copy/ml since August 2001. I am on Viramune and Combivir, both 2x1. I have been hearing about aloe vera and its use on AIDS patients. There are a lot of articles on the internet. Do you suggest the use of aloe vera juice? If yes, how much? Does it really have the effects of AZT? I live in Turkey and I am having great difficulties obtaining my medicine every month. If aloe vera juice can be an alternative I would rather use that.
Thank you for your time.
I am aware of people recommending all kinds of things to substitute for anti-HIV medications. Unfortunately, there is no research to justify such claims.
"Alternative" and "complementary" products may help people manage side effects of HIV disease and medications, but none show convincing activity against the virus itself, in any clinically useful manner.
I can certainly understand wanting to use a more pleasant product to control your HIV, but Aloe vera is not it. Believe me, if there were safe, natural, and pleasant options, I would use them, myself.
Stick with your medications. They work.
