My girlfriend started to develop a black spot on her skin and in the meantime she is taking Sustiva (Efavirenz), Videx (Didanosine) and Viread. The spots are not painful or itchy, but can I know what might cause that and if their is anything she can use to clear them out?

In reply to your question about a black spot, it is difficult to say what may be causing it without seeing the spot. It is unlikely that this is related to her HIV medications. It can be just about anything from an innocent mole to a Kaposi's sarcoma skin lesion or melanoma (skin cancer) depending on the size, shape, appearance. Thus, I would recommend that she have the black spot checked out by her primary care provider or a dermatologist.
Thanks for your question.
