Abstract: A reporter who focuses on gay and lesbian youth issues and HIV/AIDS was arrested by the Sacramento Police Department during a sting operation to catch online pedophiles. Bruce Mirken was investigating a story about a gay teenager when he agreed to meet with a teenager that he had been communicating with online. The teenager was actually the police department. Mirken vehemently denied the charges of "attempted lewd acts." Mirken has spent $30,000 on bail and legal fees and will need more if the case goes to trial.
