Abstract: The HIV Treatment Data Project (TDP) is an internet study that asks patients to self-report treatment, symptoms, and side effects. By tracking the experiences of many patients, TDP hopes to influence clinical strategies and minimize the need for lengthy clinical trials. Patients will report data on their clinical outcomes, including CD4 blood counts, viral loads, and treatment regimens. Researchers will aggregate and analyze the data and then post conclusions regularly. Glaxo Wellcome spent million of dollars developing a similar system called CHORUS, which has been plagued by technical difficulties.
