Abstract: Medical insurance should be a primary consideration when a person with HIV is planning a return to the workforce. Regulatory issues are reviewed, emphasizing those from New York State. Medicare pitfalls and solutions are outlined, and AIDS Drug Assistance Plan (ADAP) eligibility is spelled out. The process for continuing Medicare coverage after the trial work period is completed is described. A resource list is included.
