Abstract: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning AIDS physicians that there may be a slight risk of developing diabetes and hyperglycemia among patients receiving protease inhibitor therapy. The attack rate appears to be less than one percent and the FDA is not suggesting discontinuing using protease inhibitors. The text from the FDA Talk Paper describing the diabetes mellitus or hyperglycemia occurrences is included.
