Abstract: The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that a prisoner denied access to AZT for three days did not suffer cruel and unusual punishment. Thaddeus-X, an inmate in Jackson, MI, appealed a lower court dismissal of civil rights claims. The corrections officers alleged that the medicine was taken away because it was past expiration or the label had been removed. The prisoner failed to present evidence that he suffered any injury as a result of this incident.
