Abstract: A group of patients who have been treated aggressively has remained clear of HIV infection for two years. Biopsies of their lymph nodes, spinal fluid and semen also indicate that they are free of infection. Theoretically, these patients are cured, and they will soon have treatment terminated to test whether that is true. Eradication time has been estimated at two and one-half years. The life cycle of HIV is reviewed.
