Abstract: Current treatment standards dictate combination anti-HIV therapy. A brief guide to antiretroviral drugs, including reverse transcriptase inhibitors, non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors, and protease inhibitors that are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is given. The importance of compliance with drug regimens is stressed, and all treatments should be to minimize the viral load to undetectable levels.
