Abstract: Agouron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is recruiting 200 participants in 8 U.S. cities for its clinical trial for nelfinavir (VIRACEPT), an experimental protease inhibitor. Volunteers must already be taking a nucleoside analog drug such as AZT, ddI, ddC, d4T, or 3TC, and have a CD4 count under 100. All volunteers will receive 750 mg of nelfinavir three times a day; half of them will be asked to stay on the nucleoside analog they are currently using while the other half will be assigned a different nucleoside analog. For more information, individuals may contact Agouron Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
