Gene transfer trial. Clearinghouse, P.O. Box 6003, Rockville, MD 20849-6003. 800-458-5231 ext. 5023.

Treat Review. 1995 Jan;(no 16):2. Unique Identifier : AIDSLINE AIDS/95700309

Abstract: A new gene therapy called HIV-IT is in clinical trials for the treatment of HIV infection. HIV-IT therapy deposits two genes (env and rev) that eventually attach themselves to the outside of healthy cells, and in doing so, hopefully boost the immune response that kills infected cells. A larger trial is now enrolling and is seeking HIV-positive individuals between 18 and 65 years of age. For complete information, call The Network at (800) 734-7104.
