Abstract: (Producer) Millions of workers around the world are at risk of occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens, such as Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Hepatitis B Virus. This video, developed by the National Safety Council's First Aid Institute, thoroughly reviews the new standards issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Basic information on how best to comply with the standards is presented. A variety of professions are presented in the video to highlight the broad applicability of this standard. The video encourages Hepatitis B Vaccine immunization, the adoption of engineering controls, and compliance with site specific work practices.
