Abstract: (Producer) Program was developed to assist in fulfilling the training requirements of the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. Viewers learn how exposure to bloodborne pathogens occurs, and that Hepatitis B and the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) are two diseases that pose the greatest threat to employees. The modes by which bloodborne pathogens are transmitted are discussed, as are precautionary measures that can be taken to help reduce the possibility of exposure. Possible exposure situations are examined, and the proper use of personal protective equipment is described.
