[Nashville, Tenn.] : Envision [and] VU, VUMC, c1992 1 videocassette (15 min.) : sd., col. ; 1/2 in Unique Identifier : AIDSLINE AV/9300756A

Abstract: (Producer) In today's high-risk health care environment, the fear of exposure to bloodborne viruses is ever-present. This program speaks to the health care worker who has been exposed to Hepatitis or AIDS/HIV. Showing a cross section of health care workers talking to a hospital representative, the significance of the exposure and possible prevention and treatment methods are thoroughly explained. The likelihood of developing the disease, along with benefits and risks inherent in the treatment, are evaluated. Personal concerns of the workers in the video are addressed. Facts, such as the probability of an exposed health care worker developing AIDS from a work-related incident are presented, offer reassurance and relieve anxiety.
