Abstract: A homosexual patient known to be HIV positive for 2 years developed fever, herpes labialis, salmonellosis and symmetric polyarthritis. No specific cause was documented for the arthritis which was ascribed to the AIDS syndrome. Partial improvement in symptoms was observed after therapy with cotrimoxazole and indomethacin. Musculoskeletal complications of AIDS are reviewed.
