Abstract: (Producer) In order to fully understand the impact of AIDS upon individuals and families, as well as the impact on health care providers' practices, health care professionals should understand the natural history of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and the syndrome of diseases which accompany HIV. This videotape explains how the virus is transmitted. In addition to describing the mechanisms of transmission and the impact upon certain populations, i.e., specific minority communities, this videotape also shows the profound impact that AIDS has on the entire medical profession.
