Abstract: (Producer) This software package is designed to help health care professionals recognize, make decisions and respond to the psychosocial needs of persons with AIDS or HIV disease. Case I presents interaction skills and strategies for counseling an individual experiencing psychosocial consequences of HIV disease such as fear, anger and other emotional responses, loss of independence and control, and the need for social support and concrete resources. Case II focuses on techniques of crisis intervention. Case III helps health care providers assess psychosocial needs of patients and apply case management skills to meeting these needs.
