Abstract: (Producer) This program examines the search for a treatment for AIDS, interviewing leaders in AIDS research from San Francisco to Paris and seeking to determine what progress is being made in the laboratory and in field testing. The program explains the scientific complexities of the problem as well as the moral, sociological, and political problems inherent in the decision to test or not in the same painstaking manner reserved for other diseases. Finally, the program attends a Healing Alternative meeting in San Francisco, where AIDS patients are advised on the ways to make their lives more comfortable.
