Abstract: This volume contains extended abstracts of presentations made at a conference on eukaryotic viral vectors held at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in March 1988. Topics covered include bovine papillomavirus, Epstein-Barr virus, adeno-associated virus, simian virus 40/adenovirus recombinant, development of a recombinant adenovirus vaccine, translation of polycistronic messages, eukaryotic initiation factor-2 alpha phosphorylation in translational control, herpes simplex viruses, pseudorabies virus, cytomegalovirus-based expression vectors, vaccinia virus, bacteriophage, baculovirus, human gene expression induced by retroviral infection, inhibition of HTLV-I-induced cell transformation, retrovirus-mediated gene transfer, oncogene-containing retroviral vectors, gene targeting with retroviral vectors, retrotransposon virus-like particles as HIV protein carriers, Sindbis virus and defective-interfering RNAs as expression vectors, and gene expression vectors from plant viruses.
