Abstract: Part V of 'Brain Oncology. Biology, Diagnosis and Therapy,' a book that is based on papers presented at the International Meeting on Brain Oncology, held in Rennes, France, on September 4-5, 1986, consists of articles having the following titles: multicenter epidemiological study of primary cerebral tumors in the Veneto region--preliminary data from June 1, 1985 to December 31, 1985; chemically induced human gliomas--occurrence of brain gliomas in three matchbox manufacturers, an occupational risk?; prospective analysis of Grade III and IV gliomas with considerations of histological classification; histological factors in the prognosis of malignant gliomas; supratentorial gliomas (multivariate analysis of prognostic factors); high-grade astrocytoma--results of treatment; primary malignant non-Hodgkin's lymphomas of the central nervous system--report of two cases with a predominant callosal localization; tumors of the pineal region; meningeal and intracerebral localizations of Kaposi's sarcoma in AIDS; intracranial meningiomas with extracranial dissemination; intracranial soft meningiomas--diagnostic and therapeutic study of 33 cases; and brain metastases revealing lung cancer--the effect of combined surgery on quality and duration of survival.
