Abstract: In this study serum samples from foreign students, temporally living in Turin, coming from Asia, Central and South America and Africa, have been examined by ELISA test, to detect HIV antibodies; positive samples were confirmed by Western blot and indirect immunofluorescence assay. Particular care has been dedicated to the analysis of anamnestic data and risk factors of African students.
