Abstract: A bisexual human immunodeficiency virus-seropositive male had successive bacteremias with Campylobacter cinaedi and Campylobacter fennelliae. Because final identification of both isolates was not completed until 1 month after the last admission of the patient, a novel and nonstandardized antimicrobial susceptibility testing method was useful in guiding timely antimicrobial therapy.
