Abstract: Abstracts of the following conference lectures at the 2nd Biennial Conference of the Indian Society of Oncology held in Bombay, India, 9-14 February, 1986, are presented: organization of a comprehensive cancer center; bone marrow transplantation in India: feasibility and limitations; perspective of cancer research in India; relation of human cancer morbidity to age: general patterns and exceptions in the USSR; strategy in control of oral cancer; medical oncology: scope and limitations in India; surgical oncology--past, present and future; biological significance of hormone receptors in non-hormone responsive tumors--an appraisal; high dose melphalan for multiple myeloma; current trends and future leads in the management of testicular tumors; the family of human T-lymphotropic retroviruses (HTLV) and their role in T cell malignancies and AIDS; precancerous lesions of the oral cavity; and present status and future perspectives of radiation oncology in India.
