Abstract: The behaviour of gallium scintigraphy in a group of 15 drug addicts suffering from LAS is examined. The examination was positive in 11 patients with no pleuro-pulmonary lesions that could be demonstrated by clinical or radiological examination. This is in line with similar observations in AIDS cases and may reflect the preactivation of monocytes and macrophages documented in HIV infection.
