Abstract: Although the exact impact of AIDS on the health care delivery system is unknown, the evidence to date supports some grim predictions. Hundreds of thousands of victims can be expected, with costs of care reaching the multi-billions. Providers need to prepare now for what is apt to be a serious financial, organizational, and emotional problem.
