Abstract: Kaposi's sarcoma and opportunistic infections among homosexual men have been well documented by the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta. Opportunistic infections are diverse and are characterized by their severity and recurrences. Kaposi's sarcoma is an angiosarcomatous tumor which evolves rapidly and is characterized by the diffusion of cutaneous lesions and by multinodular and pleurovisceral involvement. Epstein Barr virus and cytomegalovirus have been implicated in the etiology of Kaposi's sarcoma. (35 Refs)
