A conceptual approach to immunodeficiency.

Med Clin North Am. 1981 Sep;65(5):959-76. Unique Identifier : AIDSLINE MED/82034710
Bardana EJ Jr

Abstract: Immunodeficiency represents a congenital or acquired aberration of immune function which is commonly associated with autoimmunity and neoplasia as a potential triad of biologic sequelae. Irrespective of the initial focal point in the triad, the natural evolution of the condition is frequently associated with the other two. This conceptualization should increase the clinician's ability in a more understanding approach to the evaluation and care of immunocompromised patients.
