New HIV/AIDS clinic opens in Arlington: Juniper Program will begin seeing patients Monday

An organization billing itself as Northern Virginia's largest provider of HIV/AIDS care is opening a new clinic in Arlington, Va.

Inova Health System's Juniper Program was set to commemorate the opening of its new facility with a ceremony Wednesday, according to a June 11 statement from the organization. The address of the clinic is 5015 Lee Highway, Suite 100.

Che Parker, spokesperson for the organization, said the clinic would begin seeing patients Monday.

Services that will be provided, according to the statement, include primary medical care, diagnostic and lab services, pregnancy management, medication assistance, nutrition counseling, mental health therapy, substance abuse counseling and support groups.

Karen Berube, director of the Inova Juniper Program, said in the statement that the opening of the new clinic was in response to the closure of the Whitman-Walker Clinic's Northern Virginia facility at the end of March.

"With the recent closing of Whitman-Walker Clinic of Northern Virginia, the Inova Juniper Program will collaborate with other providers in the region to offer high quality care for the residents of Arlington," she said.

According to the organization's statement, Inova's Juniper Program already provides care to more than 900 patients living with HIV/AIDS in other Virginia cities including Springfield, Alexandria and Manassas.
