The first complaint filed by the Office of the Civil Advocate accuses a Warren woman of harassing a neighbor with AIDS because of his sexual orientation.
A scheduled court hearing yesterday was postponed because one of the lawyers involved in the case was on vacation.
The complaint says Theresa Deschenes has repeatedly made anti-gay and homophobic statements to Kenneth Potts as well as threatened physical harm.
A judge has already issued an order prohibiting Deschenes from harassing Potts further.
The General Assembly last year passed a bill to establish the office.
