"Navigating the maze of resources available to people living with HIV/AIDS in New York City is a full-time job for clients and patients who have more important uses for their time and energy than to track down resources one by one," said Eric Rodriguez, Executive Director, Body Positive. "Our Resource Directory makes it easier to readily find the right information. Body Positive is proud to provide this critical resource to the community."
"This comprehensive, single source of information and support for people living with HIV/AIDS in New York is a vital resource for both our staff and our patients," said Jay Laudato, Executive Director, Callen-Lorde Community Health Center. "We're thrilled to be receiving the latest addition of Body Positive's HIV/AIDS Resource Directory."
The Body Positive Resource Directory includes a range of programs that are indexed across 29 service categories including legal, housing, food and nutrition and mental health services. The directory can be accessed by using an index of service categories or by going directly to an alphabetical listing of programs. The directory covers all five boroughs of New York City plus adjacent areas of Long Island and the northern suburbs. An on-line version is also under development. The Resource Directory is published as a special issue of Body Positive Magazine.
Mr. Rodriguez added, "We are grateful to the New York State AIDS Institute and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for providing the funding support to publish this directory."
