Hard Candy Gives 'LOVE' to AIDS Organization

PR Newswire; Wednesday November 26, 5:20 am Eastern Time

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Nov. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- With WORLD AIDS DAY just around the corner on December 1st, hopefully more people will be talking and doing something in the fight against AIDS. Hard Candy founder and creator, Dineh Mohajer, is a strong supporter of the cause. To lend her help, Dineh has designed a nail polish color that could be described with one word: LOVE. "Whenever I put names to these colors, I always take votes," says Dineh. "But, there was no question with this one."

Dineh is pleased to announce that all of the proceeds from the sale of the color LOVE will be donated to AMFAR, the nation-wide AIDS charity organization. Dineh has requested that the funds be allocated directly toward helping women with HIV and AIDS.

"I feel it's important to not only continue to educate women about the importance of safe sex, but to also help those in need," said Mohajer. "Unfortunately, the number of cases of women contracting HIV is rising. 12 years ago, only 7% of AIDS victims were women. Now, it's 20%. And that's only in the U.S."

Hard Candy will release the color, a shimmering -- pearlized white on February 1st with a special edition Hard Candy logo featuring the red AIDS ribbon.

Hard Candy will release a new LOVE cosmetic from their line every season with a goal of getting closer to a cure by the year 2000.

Hard Candy is available at select Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's and Dillard's department stores or by calling the Hard Candy Hotline at 1-800-823-7441.
