Gift Wrap, Bows and Especially Ribbons; Capture the True Meaning of the Holiday Spirit - Adopt a Ribbon Kid

PR Newswire - November 28, 1995

NEW YORK, Nov. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- On Wednesday, December 6, from 7:30 to 11 p.m., the Children's Hope Foundation (CHF), which supports over 3,200 New York City area children with HIV/AIDS, will host a truly unique holiday benefit at the Pier 59 Studio LP fashion photography studio at Chelsea Piers. Hosted by John Barrowman of CBS's "Central Park West," the benefit will showcase the Little Souls(R) Ribbon Kids, an adorable line of dolls created by five children infected with HIV/AIDS. Guests can adopt one of these special kids just in time for the holiday season and support the ongoing efforts of the Children's Hope Foundation.

Over 30 leading fashion designers have donated their time and talent to dress the Ribbon Kids in one-of-a-kind signature attire for their holiday debut. Todd Oldham, Isaac Mizrahi, Betsey Johnson, Armani Exchange, Perry Ellis, Anne Klein and Natori are just a handful of participating designers whose dolls will be auctioned off at the benefit. Made and dressed with love, each Ribbon Kid is unique and exclusive to the designer's style and current line. Other auction prizes include trips, gift certificates, designer clothing and jewelry.

The Ribbon Kids project was realized through the collaborative efforts of Little Souls, Inc.(R) (a manufacturer of handmade folk art dolls) and the Children's Hope Foundation. In January of 1995, five CHF children worked with the artisans of Little Souls, Inc.(R) to create their very own "kid." In addition to designing and dressing their creations from head to toe, the children also named and crafted identities for their dolls. Individual bios illustrate each Ribbon Kid's unique set of beliefs, values, hopes and dreams.

Now, you can adopt one of these adorable dolls and help the Children's Hope Foundation continue their support of children with HIV/AID5. For information regarding the December 6 benefit or the Ribbon Kids program, contact the Children's Hope Foundation directly at 212-941-7432. Your participation will make a difference.
