Business Wire - October 3, 2006

SANTA FE, N.M. -- Dorothy H. Bray, Ph.D., will chair the Scientific Advisory Board at CytoDyn, Inc. (OTCBB:CYDY), the Company announced today. Dr. Bray has garnered extensive experience in the development of drugs for HIV/AIDS while serving in various senior positions at GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE:GSK) and its predecessors, a leading provider of antiretroviral drugs.

Dr. Bray previously led an industry-driven international program of several hundred international studies of HIV/AIDS therapy, including over a hundred conducted in developing countries. She has been involved in multiple international research programs including the DART trial, the largest HIV therapy trial ever conducted in Africa, the CIPRA projects funded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health, as well as advising on multiple clinical development programs in the biotech industry.

Dr. Bray received her Ph.D. from the School of Pharmacy at the University of London in 1988, and her Master of Science in Biology at the Jagiellonian University of Cracow, Poland, in 1979. Her awards and scholarships include The Winston Churchill Traveling Fellowship to study medicinal plants in Africa, The Sir Halley Stewart Trust Fellowship to study natural medicinal products, and The Royal Society Scholarship to study immunology in Paris. She serves as a reviewer for a number of scientific journals.

CytoDyn is developing Cytolin(R), targeted immune therapy for HIV/AIDS that is designed to restore immune function and that has produced encouraging data in pilot clinical trials. "We believe Dr. Bray's experience and expertise will be valuable across our entire pipeline," said CytoDyn's CEO Allen D. Allen. The Company's pipeline includes a polyvalent family of DNA-based pre-vaccines for influenza, and a product, Formaxycin(TM), that is intended to treat pre-cancerous conditions of the skin based upon a natural product long used by traditional healers in Africa.
