CROfessionals Expedites Samaritan's Phase II HIV Monotherapy Trial

Business Wire - June 7, 2005

LAS VEGAS -- Samaritan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (AMEX:LIV), a developer of innovative drugs, announced today that its Phase II double-blind, placebo controlled, multi-dose, monotherapy study in treatment-experience HIV patients, has been expedited as a result of utilizing the services of CROfessionals.

Samaritan's lead oral entry inhibitor, SP-01A, will be given to HIV-1 positive patients who are experiencing evidence of an increasing viral load despite antiretroviral treatment, to assess SP-01A's safety and effect on viral load.

Dr. Greeson, CEO of Samaritan Pharmaceuticals stated, "CROfessionals is a remarkable CRO. They are unbelievably determined to get through our Phase II trial as efficiently and timely as we are."

Sue Bhadare, CEO of CROfessionals stated, "CROfessionals is a niche CRO specializing in working with companies with limited clinical trial resources, but requiring faster paced Phase II trials.

CROfessionals has assumed the responsibility of pro-actively managing and monitoring Samaritan's trial and has a team of a Project Manager, and two Clinical Research Associates, dedicated to this study to ensure its success, with Good Clinical Practices compliance, and the meeting of its aggressive timelines."

Ms. Bhadare went on to say, "Since February of this year, Samaritan and CROfessionals has integrated into one team and we are thoroughly enjoying this tight working relationship. Together, Samaritan and CROfessionals are overcoming the usual 'start up' obstacles of conducting a clinical trial as a team. We are confident of meeting our goals."

Samaritan Pharmaceuticals: "A Cure Is Closer Than You Think."
