SAN FRANCISCO--(BW HealthWire)--March 16, 1998--Three prominent AIDS-treating physicians will conduct a national dialogue on "Choosing the Right HIV Treatment Strategy" with participants of BETALIVE!

Presented by the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, this free national telephone conference call for people with HIV/AIDS will be held on March 25 at 12 noon pacific time (2 p.m. central, 3 p.m. eastern). Organized like a call-in talk show, BETALIVE! is hosted by Ron Baker, editor of the Bulletin of Experimental Treatments for AIDS (BETA).

Guests on this edition of the program will include Drs. Roy Gulick of Cornell University Medical Center, New York City; Stephen Follansbee of Davies Medical Center, San Francisco; and Mary Romeyn, in private practice, San Francisco. Anyone who wants to participate in BETALIVE! can reserve their place by calling 800/707-BETA; pre-registration is required.

BETA is published by the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, a nonprofit, community-based AIDS service organization that has been at the forefront of the battle against HIV disease since 1982.

BETA reports on promising treatment research, reviews important drug studies, interviews expert AIDS researchers and clinicians, and provides in-depth articles on the medical management of AIDS. BETA is published four times a year in English and Spanish. For subscription information call 800/959-1059. The BETA National Scholarship Program provides free subscriptions of BETA to individuals who live outside San Francisco and have a low or fixed income.

Transcripts of previous programs are available on the AIDS Foundation's web site at www.sfaf.org/betalive.html and can be heard by calling 800/550-9235. BETALIVE! is supported by an educational grant from Roche Laboratories Inc.
