A second, lower cost version of the company's HIV-1 test system is now available for purchase via credit card, check or money order. The Home Access(TM) HIV-1 Test System costs $39.95 (plus $5 shipping and handling) and provides clients with anonymous test results about a week after they collect and mail a blood sample to a laboratory for analysis.
Upon receiving clearance in July 1996 from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the company initially offered its Home Access Express(TM) HIV-1 Test System through 1-800-HIV-TEST. Home Access Express(TM) costs $49.95 (plus $5 shipping and handling) and provides anonymous test results in only three business days because client's use express overnight shipping of their blood sample to the laboratory. Home Access(TM) and Home Access Express(TM) both offer the same professional pre-test and post-test counseling and referrals, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
